Dr. Peter Franz

About Dr. Franz

Peter Franz, MD is a dedicated psychiatrist whose extensive background uniquely qualifies him to provide holistic care to his patients. Growing up with a father who also served as a family doctor to police officers and firefighters instilled in him a profound respect for first responders. His residency training is from Spokane, WA including studying sports psychology at Gonzaga, further enhancing his understanding of mental resilience. Additionally, participating in the recovery of patients who have suffered industrial injuries were some of the panel patients he enjoyed the most. He earned his medical degree from the University of South Dakota, where he initiated a collaboration that allowed medical students to assist in training firefighters pursuing EMT certification. Finally, he has an Industrial Engineering Masters degree and previously worked as a business consultant for manufacturing companies which helps inform his approach to injured clients.

Dr. Franz specializes in the treatment of disorders including PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Adjustment Disorder, and ADHD with training in CBT, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Supportive Psychotherapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy.
